What is Present Simple?

The present simple is a verb tense which is used to show repetition, habit or generalization.
When do we use the present simple?​

 

  • We use the present simple to talk about things that are always or usually true.​

  • We specialize in city tours.

  • We also use the present simple to describe routines, habits, actions or situations that happen all the time.

  • They always clean the rooms in the mornings. 

Prepositions of time

  • On: Saturday(s), the 4th July, on Valentine's day.

  • In: the morning, the afternoon, the evening.

  • At: 8 o'clock, Christmas. 

Adverbs of frequency​

 

  • We use adverbs of frequency to say how often we do something.

  • Adverbs of frequency come before the verb.

  • Adverbs of frequency come after to be.
